Reflections from Current Students

To help students interested in the Bachelor of Commerce at the University of Guelph, we reached out to current students to hear why they chose this program.

Cameron Heard (BCom '22)'s reason was:
"First off, the reason I chose the University of Guelph over my other top choices for business schools was the fact that it is such a fast-growing program. Since I first got here in 2018, the school has received a 21 million dollar donation and renamed the business school, as well as more recently receiving AACSB accreditation, which is all going towards making the degree I am to receive more valuable in the future."

Meanwhile, Mark Ibrahim (BCom '23) decided to go UofG because:
"Well I chose the University of Guelph for the campus life, and the network of people I already knew at Guelph as well as the opportunities to network through others that I knew."

For those curious about studying at the Gordon S. Lang School of Business, here are some things that current students wanted to share.

Mark Ibrahim wanted to let everyone know:

"I would say to check out extracurriculars as soon as you get here (or wherever you end up going!) you'll meet a lot of people as well as have a good outlet to take your mind off school."

Cameron Heard had this to share:
"I would tell high school students that are applying now is to not be afraid to apply as an Undeclared Commerce Student! Although it may seem like you are lagging behind your peers that already have a major declared, the courses you take are all the same, and as long as you are declared by the end of the first year there is really no difference!"
